Starplayer are a 4 piece rock band based in Durban and have just signed with Musketeer Records and in the process of releasing their second full length studio album, The Way the World Turns. 

Starplayer formed 8 years ago and with the release of their debut album, Truth Follows Fiction, in 2006 have had 10 tracks playlisted on radio across South Africa, including 5fm, Ofm, Highveld, East Coast Radio, campus radio, community stations and even as far as Canada.  Starplayer have shared stages with Stealing Love Jones, Wonderboom, Springbok Nude Girls, Zebra & Giraffe, Boo and Squeal (to name a few) and played Splashy Fen, the Mr Price Pro, Levi's Vintage gigs, Oppikoppi but one of the highlight gigs was the National Tree63 tour were Starplayer were invited to open the shows..

Comprising of Ryan Lunn on vocals and guitar, Jon "Scoop" Randall on bass, Paul Watson on keys and Theo "Ted" Claassen on drums, the band have more than 25 years experience combined and can boast being part of numerous South African bands over the last 10 years, including Waverley, Sitter and Tree63.

Starplayer's influences stem from various genre's and artists - Jimmy Eat World, All American Rejects, Blink182, Foo Fighter, Pearl Jam, Fall Out Boy, Kings of Leon, Yellowcard, Weezer, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and many others.

With the imminent release of The Way The World Turns, Starplayer are ready to take their passion to the rest of South Africa and throughout the world.
